Remembrance Sunday is 8 November. St John's Hillingdon parades at 10.50am and the Battle of Britain Bunker lays wreaths at 11am, free. Other services TBC.

Remembrance Sunday 2026 is Sunday 8 November. Two ceremonies in Uxbridge have published their times so far: the parade from St John’s Hillingdon at 10.50am, and Hillingdon Council’s wreath laying at the Battle of Britain Bunker at 11am. Both are free. The other parish services, and any parade in the town centre, Ruislip or Hayes, had not been announced when we checked on 4 October; this page will be updated as they are.

The quick answer

  • Date: Sunday 8 November 2026. Armistice Day, 11 November, falls on the Wednesday after.
  • 10.50am, St John’s Hillingdon, corner of Royal Lane and the Uxbridge Road (A4020), UB8 3QR: parade to the Memorial Garden for the Act of Remembrance and the laying of poppies, then a service in church. Holy Communion is at 10am beforehand. (A Church Near You)
  • 11am to 11.30am, Battle of Britain Bunker, Wren Avenue, Uxbridge UB10 0GG: the annual wreath laying in the Memorial Garden. Free, all ages. (Hillingdon Council)
  • Not yet published: St Margaret’s in Windsor Street, the parishes of Ruislip, Northwood and Hayes, and any road closures.

St John’s Hillingdon: 10.50am parade

St John’s lists its Remembrance Sunday on the Church of England’s A Church Near You site, for 8 November 2026, starting at 10.45am and running for an hour and a quarter:

  • 10am: Holy Communion.
  • 10.50am: parade to the Memorial Garden for the Act of Remembrance and the laying of poppies.
  • After that: a service in church.

The listing tags the morning as a family and community event, held partly outdoors, with the Scouts, Cubs, Brownies, Rainbows, Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Brigade, and says the service is live streamed. The church is on the corner of Royal Lane and the A4020 at Hillingdon Hill, UB8 3QR, about a mile from Uxbridge town centre. (A Church Near You: St John’s Hillingdon)

Battle of Britain Bunker: 11am wreath laying

Hillingdon Council’s events calendar lists the Remembrance Sunday Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Battle of Britain Bunker on Sunday 8 November 2026, 11am to 11.30am, in the Bunker’s Memorial Garden. The council calls it “our annual Wreath Laying Ceremony”. It is free and open to all ages, and the listing does not ask you to book. (Hillingdon Council)

The Bunker, on the former RAF Uxbridge site off Wren Avenue, was No. 11 Group Fighter Command’s operations room during the Battle of Britain. Its museum, opening days and winter events are on our Battle of Britain Bunker winter page.

The two ceremonies are about half a mile apart, but the St John’s parade and the Bunker’s 11am start overlap, so you will need to choose one.

What has not been announced yet

We checked these on 4 October 2026 and found nothing for this year:

  • St Margaret’s Church, Windsor Street, the town-centre parish church. Its A Church Near You listing shows only its regular Sunday services so far. (A Church Near You: St Margaret’s)
  • A town-centre parade. Hillingdon Council lists the Uxbridge Peace Memorial among the borough’s war memorials, but has not published a 2026 service there. (Hillingdon Council: war memorials)
  • Ruislip, Northwood, Hayes and Harefield. No 2026 times are published by the council or the parishes yet.
  • Road closures. None published by the council for 2026.

We will add each one when the organiser publishes it.

Parking and getting there

  • St John’s Hillingdon is on the A4020 Uxbridge Road at Hillingdon Hill, UB8 3QR.
